2Baba Donates N3.5Million to help Refugees

Nigerian Superstar 2Baba Idibia  has donated N3.5 million to United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR, to provide life saving assistance for the internally displaced people in Africa.
2face through ‘2face Foundation’ has partnered several charity organisations before, but this is the highest.
The ‘African Queen’ singer, who had a sore throat after his performance at a Lagos concert over the weekend, visited the UNHCR office in Lagos on February 27 for the announcement along with his manager, Efe Omoregbe.
2face is the first Nigerian entertainer to support the fundraising campaign in Nigeria where over 1.8 million people are displaced.
‘I am proud to support the UN Refugee Agency because its proven track record of being at the fore front of displacement emergency,’ he said.
2face Idibia backed out of his February 6 nationwide protest against bad government in the country due to security reasons and possible multifaceted threats, but he now believes helping the poor is another way to make Nigeria and Africa a better place.
I want to help the people who have been forced to flee their homes because it is an issue I care about and this donation is one of such efforts.’
The singer also announced a charity concert – planned to hold in June – to raise more funds for the IDPs whilst offering royalties from his music.
